Do You Have a Plan to Vote?

Here are some important things to know about voting by mail ballot. For details and complete information on voting options follow the link to the Bucks County BOE Vote by Mail page

Deadlines for the May 19th Primary Election

  • 5 p.m May 4th: This is the deadline if you need to register to vote

  • 5 p.m. May 12th: Your APPLICATION for a mail-in or absentee ballot must be received by your county election office.

  • 8 p.m. May 19th: Your county election office must RECEIVE your completed mail ballot by this time. A postmark by 8 p.m. May 19th is not sufficient.

  • Missed the deadline to apply for your mail ballot? If you have an emergency--such as an unexpected illness or disability or last-minute absence from your municipality--you may still be able to obtain a mail ballot after the October 28 deadline. Find information here about how to get an emergency absentee ballot.

Mail Ballots

PA requires you to apply annually if you want to vote by mail in a given year’s elections.

If you have voted by mail in the past and have elected to receive annual applications, Bucks County Board of Elections will be mailing your applications soon. But you don’t have to wait - you can apply online now (or print out a paper application). If you haven’t voted by mail you can also use the on-line services. See our home page for links to apply and track yours all the way through to receipt of your completed ballot.

Once you have your ballots in hand, you can return them by mail or use the BOE provided drop boxes. The button below takes you to the BOE page with lock box locations and hours. The county has not yet updated that page for the 2026 Primary but the updated info will be reflected by following that link once the updates are made.

Here are some tips on properly completing and returning your mail ballot packet

After receiving the ballot, please make every effort to complete your vote and return it back to the BOE without delay.  After completing your ballot:

  • "Seal" your ballot in the yellow Secrecy Envelope.  Do not make any marks or write anything on this envelope.

  • Place the Secrecy Envelope into the outer return envelope.

  • Seal the outer return envelope.

  • Sign and Date the form on the back of the outer return envelope; these are required in order for your vote to be counted.

  • Mail or use one of the secure drop off locations (see above).  Your ballot must be received by the BOE by 8PM election day November 4th.

We recommend that if you mail the ballot that you walk the ballot into the Post Office as opposed to using an outside mailbox; this minimizes the risk of theft.  Serving Wrightstown are the following Post Offices:  Penns Park**, Wycombe**, Pineville and Rushland as well as offices in Newtown** and Furlong**

**Post Office Locations with 24 hr. lobby hours

NOTE: EACH PERSON MUST DELIVER THEIR OWN ENVELOPE at the drop off location which is monitored for compliance. You can designate an “agent” to return your ballot if you are unable to do so yourself - click here for details.
